Description
This Eisco Labs apparatus is comprised of an 8-7/10 x 6-1/2 x 4-inch metal box with a sliding front door, two glass chimneys, and a candle holder. This simple apparatus can be used to demonstrate the heat transfer process of convection, where gas moves due to it becoming less dense after being heated. Smoke can be created or pumped into the glass chimney that is not above the candle, and can then be seen leaving the box from the opposite chimney due to the convection current created by the candle. Candles are sold separately.
